In a city well known for its superficiality and tourism , lies a beautiful landscape both visitors and residents make no inner connection to. This project is re-thinking the relationship between tourism, spirituality, and the landscape of Miami, FL. Inspired by the ritual of walking by the sea , I’m proposing an 8-mile pilgrimage on the water meant to deepen our connection to the ocean and marine life through the context of spirituality. It's to be experienced as a successive journey but can also become a single destination at any part of the experience.

The floating path begins in Haulover Park Beach and ends with a sacred monument in South Pointe Beach. This project exists to create a structure that mutually serves the ocean as well as humans. Below the walking path are coral reef farming systems that provide balance and protection to the path structure by reducing the power of crashing waves, but more importantly these systems will serve to activate and restore the local ecosystem of our ocean.  By establishing our beaches as sacred ground, we begin to bridge the connection that the ocean is our most natural temple, open to everyone and to be conserved by everyone.
